About Venkateshwara Open University

Venkateshwara Open University (VOU) is a state private Open and Distance Learning (ODL) university based in Naharlagun (Itanagar Capital Complex), Arunachal Pradesh, established by Venkateshwara Open University Act No. 10 of 2012 of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. VOU is recognised under Section 22 of the UGC Act and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

VOU offers more than 190 ODL programmes across 15 streams — including UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, Certificate and Ph.D — in management, computer applications, engineering (where ODL-permitted), commerce, education, humanities and sciences. As an open university, admission is open throughout the academic session and is based on the qualifying examination, with no centralised entrance test for most ODL programmes.
