About Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences

Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is a deemed-to-be university located at D-1, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, established in 2009 as an autonomous mono-super-speciality hospital and research institute by the Government of NCT of Delhi under the Societies Registration Act 1860, and conferred deemed-to-be university status by UGC. ILBS is dedicated to clinical care, education, training and research in liver and biliary diseases.

ILBS offers doctoral super-speciality (DM, M.Ch), Ph.D, Post-Doctoral Certificate Courses (PDCC) — 13 specialisations including Liver Transplant Anaesthesia, HPB Interventional Radiology, Pediatric Hepatology, Hepatopathology, Nephrology, Hepato-Virology, Critical Care Medicine, HPB/GI Oncology, Abdominal Imaging, Blood Banking & Immunohaematology, Advanced Diagnostic & Clinical Microbiology, Apheresis Technology and Cellular Transplant Immunology — Post-Graduate Certificate Courses (PGCC), Fellowships and Certificate programmes. DM / M.Ch admission is through NEET SS; Ph.D / PDCC / PGCC admissions use ILBS-conducted entrance examinations plus interview.

ILBS does not offer regular MBBS / BDS or general PG medical degrees — its focus is super-speciality liver and biliary sciences education and research.

Eligibility

DM / M.Ch (Super-Speciality): MD/MS in the relevant discipline + valid NEET SS score + interview. Ph.D: Master's in the relevant discipline with UGC-prescribed aggregate plus ILBS Research Entrance + interview. PDCC (13 specialisations): MD/MS / DNB in the parent specialty + ILBS Entrance + interview. PGCC: MBBS / equivalent + ILBS Entrance.
