About National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology
National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMI) is a deemed-to-be university located at Janpath, New Delhi (within the National Museum complex), established in 1989 by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. NMI is dedicated to PG and doctoral education in History of Art, Conservation of Museum Objects, Museology and Indian Visual Culture, and operates in close association with the National Museum.
NMI offers M.A. (History of Art, Conservation, Museology), M.Phil and Ph.D programmes. Admission to M.A. is through the NMI Entrance Examination plus interview; M.Phil and Ph.D admissions use the NMI Research Entrance Test plus interview, with weightage to publication record and museum / conservation / art-history experience.
