About South Asian University
South Asian University (SAU) is an international Central University established by the eight SAARC member countries — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka — through an Inter-Governmental Agreement signed in 2007 and operationalised in 2010. The new permanent campus spans nearly 100 acres at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi. SAU enjoys exceptional university status with degrees recognised by all eight member states.
SAU offers PG (M.Sc Computer Science, M.Sc Applied Mathematics, M.Sc Biotechnology, MA Economics, MA International Relations, MA Sociology, LL.M, M.Tech Computer Science) and Integrated M.Sc + M.Tech Computer Science programmes plus M.Phil and Ph.D. Admission for Indian candidates is through the SAU Entrance Test (SAUET); for non-Indian SAARC candidates, admission uses national-level test scores from recognised institutions plus a proctored online test. Direct Mode admission accepts qualifying-examination merit until 20 May 2026.
SAUET 2026 was conducted on 25-26 April 2026. Direct Mode applications are open until 20 May 2026. The official admission portal is at admissions.sau.int. All 8 SAARC countries have an equal share of seats.
