About Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University
Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University (SLBSRSV) is a Central Sanskrit University located at Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi, originally established in 1962 as Lal Bahadur Shastri Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha. The institution was conferred deemed-to-be university status in 1987 and elevated to a full Central University in March 2020 by the Central Sanskrit Universities Act, 2020 of the Indian Parliament — alongside Central Sanskrit University and National Sanskrit University Tirupati.
SLBSRSV offers Shastri (UG), Acharya (PG), Vidya Varidhi (Ph.D), Diploma and Certificate programmes in Sanskrit, Veda, Vyakaran, Sahitya, Darshan, Jyotish, Dharmashastra, Puranetihasa and other traditional Sanskrit shastras. UG and PG admission is conducted through the SLBSRSV Common Entrance Test plus the All-India Sanskrit Entrance Test (AISET); Ph.D admission uses the SLBSRSV Research Entrance Test plus interview.
