About Sido Kanhu Murmu University
Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) is a state university located at Dumka in Jharkhand, established in 1992 by the Bihar Legislative Assembly (pre-Jharkhand statehood) and inherited by Jharkhand upon state formation in 2000. The university is named after Sido and Kanhu Murmu — leaders of the 1855 Santhal rebellion against the British — and serves the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand.
SKMU offers UG, PG and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management and tribal / Santhali studies. UG admission via CUET UG / merit; PG via SKMU PG Entrance or CUET PG.
