About Kuvempu University

Kuvempu University (KU Shimoga) is a state university located at Jnanasahyadri, Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga (Shimoga) in Karnataka, established in 1987 by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. KU is named after the celebrated Kannada poet and Jnanpith laureate Kuvempu (KV Puttappa) and serves the colleges of the Shivamogga, Chikmagalur, Davangere and Chitradurga districts of central Karnataka.

KU offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, education and computer applications through 47 PG departments and 150+ affiliated colleges. UG admission via CUET UG / merit; PG via KU PG Entrance or CUET PG.
