About Visveswaraiah Technological University
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is a state technical university located at Belgaum (Belagavi) in Karnataka, established in 1998 by the VTU Act, 1994 of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. VTU is named after Sir M. Visvesvaraya — the renowned engineer-statesman and 19th Diwan of Mysore — and is one of the largest technical universities in India with more than 200 affiliated engineering colleges across Karnataka.
VTU offers UG (B.Tech, B.Arch, BBA, BCA), PG (M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, MCA) and Ph.D programmes through its constituent and affiliated colleges. B.Tech admission for state-quota seats is through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) by KEA + JEE Main; out-of-state and private-college seats follow JoSAA / COMEDK; M.Tech via PGCET (Karnataka) + GATE; MBA via PGCET + CAT.
