Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University (CSMU), established in 2018 by an Act of the Maharashtra state legislature, is a private state university located at Panvel, Navi Mumbai (Raigad district). The university is named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj — the 17th-century founder of the Maratha Empire — and is part of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Education Trust.
