About Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth
Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth (DBSKKV), established in 1972 at Dapoli in Ratnagiri district, is the fourth state agricultural university of Maharashtra and serves the Konkan coastal region (Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Thane, Palghar districts). The university is named in honour of Dr. Balasaheb Sawant — a former Vice-Chancellor and pioneer of Konkan agricultural research, who developed the famous Alphonso mango cultivation systems.
DBSKKV has Colleges of Agriculture at Dapoli, Ratnagiri, Sangameshwar; College of Agricultural Engineering at Dapoli; College of Horticulture at Mulde-Mangaon; College of Fisheries at Ratnagiri; College of Forestry at Dapoli; and 7 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). Known for its Konkan-specific research on coconut, areca, mango, cashew, rice and marine fisheries. ICAR-accredited SAU.
UG admissions through MHT-CET (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and DBSKKV-conducted entrances.
