About Dr Homi Bhabha State University, Mumbai
Dr. Homi Bhabha State University (HBSU) Mumbai, established in 2019 by an Act of the Maharashtra state legislature, is a unique cluster state university located in central Mumbai. The university brings together four prestigious autonomous colleges of Mumbai into a single cluster university: Government Institute of Science (Mumbai), Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Elphinstone College, and the Maharashtra College of Arts, Science & Commerce. The university is named after Dr. Homi J. Bhabha — the noted Indian nuclear physicist.
HBSU offers UG (BA, BSc, BCom, BMS, BCA, BBA) and PG (MA, MSc, MCom, MBA) programmes through its four constituent colleges. The university maintains the historic identity of each constituent college (some dating to the 19th century — Elphinstone College was founded in 1856, Sydenham in 1913). The university has plans to expand into Engineering, Management and Law.
UG admissions through HBSU Common Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two marks. PG admissions through HBSU PG entrance or CUET PG for select departments. PhD through HBSU PET.
