About Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University
Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), established in 2000 (operational 2001-02) at Seminary Hills, Nagpur, is the apex state veterinary, animal sciences and fisheries university of Maharashtra. MAFSU was formed by bringing together the veterinary, dairy and fisheries colleges previously affiliated to various agricultural universities of Maharashtra under a single body, similar to KVASU in Kerala.
MAFSU has Colleges of Veterinary Sciences at Nagpur, Mumbai, Parbhani, Udgir and Shirwal; College of Dairy Technology at Udgir; College of Fishery Sciences at Nagpur, Ratnagiri and Shirgaon; College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences at Shirwal; and 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendras. ICAR-accredited state veterinary university; recognised by Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
UG admissions to BVSc & AH through MHT-CET (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). BTech Dairy/Fishery through MHT-CET + state counselling. PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and MAFSU-conducted entrances.
