About Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth
Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), established in 1968 at Rahuri in Ahmednagar district, is one of the four state agricultural universities of Maharashtra. The university is named in honour of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule — the 19th-century social reformer, educationist and pioneer of women's education in India. MPKV is the agricultural university for the western Maharashtra and Vidarbha-fringe region (covering 10 districts).
MPKV has 23 colleges including Colleges of Agriculture at Pune, Dhule, Kolhapur and Halgaon; Colleges of Agricultural Engineering at Rahuri and Dapoli; College of Horticulture at Pune; College of Agricultural Biotechnology at Rahuri; and 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). The university is ICAR-accredited as a State Agricultural University (SAU).
UG admissions to BSc Agriculture, BTech Agricultural Engineering, BSc Horticulture, BSc Forestry through MHT-CET (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and MPKV-conducted entrances.
