Sanjay Ghodawat University (SGU), established in 2017 by an Act of the Maharashtra state legislature, is a private state university located at Kolhapur-Sangli Highway, Atigre (Kolhapur district). The university is part of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Institutions founded by Sanjay Ghodawat — a Kolhapur-based industrialist. SGU has a strong focus on engineering, management and aviation studies.

Sanjay Ghodawat University has multiple schools — Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Law, Commerce, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Aviation. The School of Aviation (with its own fleet for training) is a distinctive vertical. NAAC accredited.
