About National Law University

National Law University Odisha (NLUO), established in 2008 by an Act of the Odisha state legislature, is the 9th National Law University of India and the principal NLU of Odisha. Located at Kathajodi Campus, Cuttack (the historic legal capital of Odisha with the Orissa High Court), NLUO is a participant in the Consortium of NLUs and CLAT.

NLUO offers a 5-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.), 1-year LL.M., and PhD programmes in law. Specialised research centres include Centre for Maritime Law, Centre for Environmental Law (relevant to Odisha's biodiversity at Chilika, Bhitarkanika, Similipal) and Centre for Constitutional Law. NAAC accredited; recognised by Bar Council of India.

BA LLB (Hons) admissions through CLAT UG conducted by Consortium of NLUs. LL.M. admissions through CLAT PG. PhD through NLUO PhD entrance. Odisha state quota of 25% within CLAT merit for Odisha domicile candidates.

BA LLB (Hons): Plus Two 45% (40% SC/ST/OBC) + CLAT UG. LL.M.: LLB 50% + CLAT PG. PhD: LL.M. 55% + NLUO entrance.
