About Rajendra University
Rajendra University, Balangir, established in 2020 by an Act of the Odisha state legislature (continuing the legacy of Rajendra College Balangir founded in 1944), is a state university located at Balangir. The university is named after Maharaja Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo — the last Maharaja of the Patna Maharaja Estate (which included Balangir) and a prominent freedom fighter and first Chief Minister of Odisha post-Independence. The original Rajendra College was an autonomous college upgraded to university status in 2020.
Rajendra University has 14 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education and Management. The university maintains the historic Rajendra College heritage. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
UG admissions through Odisha SAMS on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through Rajendra U PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through Rajendra U PhD entrance.
