About Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology
Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), established in 2000 by an Act of the Rajasthan state legislature (continuing the legacy of College of Agriculture Udaipur founded in 1962), is the principal state agricultural university for the Mewar-Vagad region of southern Rajasthan. Located at Udaipur, MPUAT is named after Maharana Pratap — the 16th-century Sisodia Rajput king of Mewar who is celebrated for his resistance against Mughal expansion (Battle of Haldighati 1576).
MPUAT has 7 colleges — College of Agriculture (Udaipur, Bhilwara, Jhalawar), College of Technology & Engineering (CTAE Udaipur), College of Dairy & Food Science Technology (Udaipur), College of Community & Applied Sciences (Udaipur), College of Fisheries (Udaipur). CTAE Udaipur is one of the older engineering colleges in Rajasthan. ICAR-accredited SAU.
UG admissions through Rajasthan JET for agriculture (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15%). B.Tech (CTAE) through JEE Main + state counselling by Rajasthan REAP. PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and MPUAT-conducted entrances.
