About Sardar Patel University of Police, Security & Criminal Justice
Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice (SPUP), established in 2012 by an Act of the Rajasthan state legislature, is the first state university in India dedicated exclusively to police, security and criminal justice education. Located at Daijar, Jodhpur, the university is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the first Home Minister of India and "Iron Man" of India. SPUP was established to professionalise police training, criminology and homeland security education.
SPUP has departments of Criminology, Police Administration, Cyber Security, Forensic Sciences, Disaster Management, Human Rights, International Relations, Security Studies, Counter-Terrorism, and Sociology. Offers BA (Police Studies), MA (Police Studies/Criminology/Security Studies), MBA (Homeland Security), MPhil and PhD programmes. Also offers in-service police training and certificate programmes.
Admissions through SPUP Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. CUET UG/PG accepted for select programmes. In-service police personnel admitted through sponsorship from state police departments. PhD through SPUP PhD entrance.
