About Rajasthan Agricultural University
Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU), known earlier as Rajasthan Agricultural University, established in 1987 by an Act of the Rajasthan state legislature, is one of the four state agricultural universities of Rajasthan. Headquartered at Bichhwal, Bikaner, SKRAU was renamed in 2009 in honour of Swami Keshwanand — a 20th-century social reformer of western Rajasthan. The university serves the Bikaner-Ganganagar-Hanumangarh region (western desert Rajasthan).
SKRAU has Colleges of Agriculture at Bikaner, Lalsot, Sumerpur, Nagaur; College of Agricultural Engineering at Bikaner; College of Home Science at Bikaner; and 6 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). Known for its research on arid-zone agriculture, date palm cultivation and groundwater-saving cropping systems. ICAR-accredited SAU.
UG admissions through Rajasthan Joint Entrance Test for Agriculture (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and SKRAU-conducted entrances.
