About Raj Rishi Bhartrihari Matsya University
Raj Rishi Bhartrihari Matsya University (RRBMU), established in 2012 by an Act of the Rajasthan state legislature, is a state university located at Alwar — the historic capital of the Matsya region. The university is named after Raj Rishi Bhartrihari — a legendary 1st-century BCE king of Ujjain who renounced his throne to become a sage (and is associated with the Bhartrihari caves near Alwar). RRBMU serves the Matsya region of north-eastern Rajasthan — Alwar, Bharatpur and Dholpur districts.
RRBMU has 14 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education and Management. It affiliates 60+ UG colleges across the Matsya region. NAAC accredited.
UG admissions to affiliated colleges through Rajasthan CAP on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through RRBMU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through RRBMU PhD entrance.
