About Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a private deemed multi-disciplinary research university with its founding campus at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Founded in 1994 by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi as Amrita School of Engineering, the institution was granted Deemed-to-be-University status in January 2003 — making it among the youngest deemed universities at that time. Amrita is conferred the "Institution of Eminence" recognition by the Ministry of Education and is managed by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math.

Amrita today operates 19 constituent schools spread across 10 campuses — Coimbatore, Amritapuri (Kollam), Kochi, Bengaluru, Amaravati, Chennai, Faridabad, Mysore, Nagercoil and Haridwar — offering 350+ UG, PG and PhD programmes across Engineering, Medical Sciences (AIMS Kochi), Management (Amrita School of Business), Allied Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Ayurveda, Arts & Humanities, Biotechnology, Education, Law and Mass Communication. Amrita is consistently among India's top universities in NIRF.

Amrita B.Tech admissions are conducted through the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE) — an online proctored exam held in two phases — alongside JEE Main mode. After AEEE result, admissions follow the Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP). Medical admissions follow NEET UG/PG; PG management uses CAT/MAT/Amrita's own AMET; PhD admissions via the Amrita PhD entrance plus interview.
