About Kakatiya University
Kakatiya University, established in 1976 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh state legislature (continued under Telangana state legislature after 2014), is a state university located at Vidyaranyapuri, Warangal. The university is named after the Kakatiya Dynasty — the 12th-14th century Telugu kingdom that ruled from Warangal and is celebrated for its temple architecture (Ramappa Temple — UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Kakatiya University has 35 teaching departments organised into 5 faculties — Arts & Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce & Business Management, Education, and Engineering & Technology. It affiliates 200+ UG and PG colleges across north-Telangana. NAAC A grade accredited.
UG admissions to affiliated colleges through Telangana state centralised system on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through TSCPGET (Telangana State Common PG Entrance Test) or Kakatiya University PG entrance. PhD through Kakatiya PhD entrance.
