About Shiv Nadar University
Shiv Nadar University (SNU), Delhi NCR, is a private deemed university located on a 286-acre campus in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 2011 by Shiv Nadar, the founder and chairman of HCL Technologies, the university was conferred the prestigious "Institution of Eminence" recognition by the Ministry of Education in August 2022 — making it the youngest university to receive this status. Operations are managed by the philanthropic Shiv Nadar Foundation.
SNU operates 8 schools — School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Management & Entrepreneurship (SME), School of Communication, School of Law, School of Education, and the Centre for the Sciences of Public Affairs and Public Policy — offering 50+ UG, PG and PhD programmes. SNU UG admissions are conducted through SNUSAT (Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test) — an online home-proctored test conducted in 6 cycles between January and July 2026. Candidates may also apply through College Board SAT or ACT scores. B.Tech and BS Computer Science applicants additionally take the APT (Aptitude Test) covering Physics and Mathematics. PG admissions follow programme-specific routes including CAT (MBA), GATE (M.Tech) and the SNU PhD entrance.
