About Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University
Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (DBUU), Dehradun was established in 2005 by Sai Education Trust under the Uttarakhand State Legislature Act, with its origins as Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology (DBIT) and Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions (DBGI). It received private university status in 2020. DBUU is recognised by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is approved by AICTE, PCI, INC, BCI and NCTE for its respective professional programmes. The campus is located at Chakrata Road, Navagaon, on the outskirts of Dehradun, and spans over 50 acres.
DBUU offers programmes through nine schools — Engineering, Computing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hotel Management, Agriculture, Law, Education, Allied Health Sciences and Liberal Arts. Flagship offerings include BTech (CSE/IT/AIML/Civil/Mechanical/EE/ECE), BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA, BPharm/DPharm/MPharm, B.Sc Agriculture, BHMCT/BHM, BA LLB / LLB / LLM, BSc Nursing/GNM, BEd and PhD across disciplines. Engineering admissions accept JEE Main and DBUEE (the university's own entrance test); BPharm accepts UKSEE; law accepts CLAT/DULET; MBA accepts CAT/MAT/CMAT/UKMET.
DBUU is NAAC accredited and a member of AIU. The university emphasises industry-aligned curriculum with academic partnerships across UK and Southeast Asia, MoUs with Wipro, IBM, Capgemini and Microsoft for skill labs, and a strong incubation cell under the Atal Innovation Mission framework. Placements consistently cover IT services, pharma majors and hospitality chains. The campus offers separate hostels, a central library, dental hospital and a 1,000-seat auditorium.
