About DIT University
DIT University, Dehradun was established in 2013 by Unison Educational Society under the Uttarakhand State Legislature Act. It traces its origins to Dehradun Institute of Technology (DIT) founded in 1998 as an engineering college affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University (then UP Technical University). The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is approved by AICTE, PCI, INC and BCI for its professional programmes. The campus is located on Mussoorie Diversion Road, spread over 23 acres.
DIT University operates through six schools — Engineering, Computing, Sciences, Liberal Arts, Management and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Programmes include BTech (CSE/IT/AIML/Cyber Security/Data Science/ECE/EE/Mechanical/Civil/Chemical/Petroleum), BSc/MSc (Physics/Chemistry/Maths/Biotech), BCA/MCA, BBA/MBA, BPharm/MPharm, B.A./B.A.(Hons)/M.A. (Liberal Arts), BSc Nursing, MTech and PhD. Admissions accept JEE Main, UGEE (DIT's own entrance), CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT for MBA, UPSEE and GPAT.
DIT University is NAAC accredited and ranked among India's top emerging private universities in NIRF Engineering and Pharmacy categories. It has academic collaborations with the University of Bristol, Liverpool John Moores, Deakin and University of Saskatchewan. Recruiters include Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, IBM, HCL, ZS Associates, Bosch and Deloitte, with consistent placement records above 85% across engineering. The campus offers separate hostels, modern engineering labs, a Centre of Excellence for IoT and AI in collaboration with Texas Instruments, an Innovation Hub and a 1,000-seat auditorium.
