About Doon University

Doon University, established in 2005 by an Act of the Uttarakhand state legislature, is a state university located at Kedarpur, Dehradun. The university was established as the first government-run university of Uttarakhand state (post-2000 statehood). Doon University has a strong focus on Himalayan studies, languages and management.

Doon University has 8 schools — Schools of Communication, Environment & Natural Resources, Languages, Management, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Design, and Buddhist Studies. The School of Communication is a flagship vertical given Dehradun's position as Uttarakhand's media hub. NAAC accredited.
