About Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University
Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), established in 1973 as Garhwal University by an Act of the UP state legislature and elevated to Central University status in 2009 by the HNBGU Act 2009, is the principal Central University of Uttarakhand. Headquartered at Srinagar Garhwal, the university has three campuses (Srinagar, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal) and serves the Garhwal Himalayan region. Named after Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna — former CM of UP and freedom fighter.
HNBGU has 60+ teaching departments organised into 8 schools — Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Management, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Performing Arts. It affiliates 60+ colleges in the Garhwal hills. NAAC accredited.
UG admissions through CUET UG, PG through CUET PG, and PhD through CUET PhD or HNBGU PhD entrance.
