About Shri Guru Ram Rai University
Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU), Dehradun was established in 2017 by SGRR Education Mission under the Uttarakhand State Legislature Act. It is sponsored by the Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission, which also runs the renowned Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital — a 750-bedded tertiary care super-specialty hospital attached to the university for clinical teaching. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is approved by NMC, DCI, PCI, INC, AICTE, NCTE and BCI for its respective professional programmes. The campus is located on Patel Nagar, Dehradun.
SGRRU operates through its Faculty of Medical Sciences (Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences — SGRRIM&HS), Faculty of Dental Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Liberal Arts. Programmes include MBBS, MD/MS, BDS, MDS, BPharm/MPharm/D.Pharm, BSc/MSc Nursing/GNM, BPT/MPT, BSc MLT/Radiology/OT, BTech, BBA/MBA, BCA/MCA, BEd, BA-LLB and PhD. Admissions for MBBS/BDS via NEET UG; PG medical via NEET PG; nursing/pharmacy via university entrance; engineering via JEE Main / SGRRU-EE; MBA via CAT/MAT/CMAT/university test.
SGRRU is NAAC accredited and is one of Dehradun's leading medical-allied health universities. The attached Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital provides clinical exposure across 30+ specialities and is widely recognised as a major tertiary care centre serving Uttarakhand and adjoining western UP. Recruiters include AIIMS Rishikesh, Max Healthcare, Apollo Hospitals, Fortis, Manipal Hospitals, Cipla, Sun Pharma and Wipro/TCS for engineering. The campus offers separate hostels, modern hospital simulation labs, Centre for Telemedicine, and the SGRR Centre for Research in Indigenous Medicine.
