About Uttarakhand Sanskrit University
Uttarakhand Sanskrit University (USVV), established in 2005 by an Act of the Uttarakhand state legislature, is the state Sanskrit university of Uttarakhand. Located at Bahadrabad, Haridwar, the university is dedicated to the study, preservation and propagation of Sanskrit language and Vedic studies. Haridwar is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage city, making it appropriate for the Sanskrit university.
USVV has departments of Vyakarana (Grammar), Sahitya (Literature), Vedanta, Jyotisha (Astronomy), Dharmashastra, Ayurveda, Yoga, Sanskrit Computing, Performing Arts, Sankhya, Mimansa, Comparative Philology and Manuscriptology. Offers Shastri (BA), Acharya (MA), Vidyavaridhi (PhD), Shiksha Shastri (BEd) and Diploma/Certificate. NAAC accredited.
UG/PG admissions through USVV-conducted entrance and merit. CUET UG/PG accepted for select programmes. PhD through USVV PhD entrance. Traditional pathshala graduates accepted with equivalence.
