About Uttaranchal University
Uttaranchal University, Dehradun was established in 2013 by Uttaranchal Group of Institutions under the Uttarakhand State Legislature Act. It is one of the largest private universities in Uttarakhand by student strength and operates from a 50-acre campus at Premnagar, Dehradun. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is approved by AICTE, BCI, PCI, INC, NCTE and Pharmacy Council of India for its respective professional programmes.
Uttaranchal University is structured into nine schools — Engineering, Computing, Law, Pharmacy, Management, Applied Sciences, Liberal Arts, Agriculture, and Nursing. Flagship programmes include BTech (CSE/AIML/Cyber Security/Data Science/ECE/EE/Mechanical/Civil/Petroleum), BPharm/MPharm/D.Pharm, BA-LLB/BBA-LLB/LLB/LLM, BBA/MBA, BCA/MCA, BSc Agriculture, BSc Nursing/GNM, BJMC/MAJMC, and PhD. Admissions accept JEE Main, UU's own entrance (UEE), CLAT, CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT for MBA, UKSEE for pharmacy, and qualifying merit for select programmes.
Uttaranchal University is NAAC accredited and is one of the largest private placement networks in the Uttarakhand region. Recruiters include Wipro, TCS, Infosys, HCL, Capgemini, Cognizant, Mahindra Comviva and pharmaceutical companies including Cipla and Sun Pharma. The university offers separate boys and girls hostels, a moot court for law, central library with 1.5 lakh+ books, sports complex, and the Uttaranchal Centre for Skill Development. The campus is well connected to Dehradun bus stand and railway station.
